Earrings

925 Sterling silver
Most jewelry is made of 925 sterling silver. This is the most used and best known type of silver. This can be recognized by the 925 stamp on all jewelry. 925 Means that the jewelry is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. Pure silver is too soft to be used in jewelry, and you will not easily come across it.

925 Sterling silver + gold plated
Most gold jewelry has received its golden color from gold plating. This means that a 14/18-carat gold layer is applied to the 925 sterling silver.

925 Sterling silver + gold-color plated
Some gold earrings have been given the gold color from gold color plating. This means that a gold colored metal layer is applied to the 925 sterling silver. This layer has no value and is also more fragile than the gold plated jewelry.

Stainless steel + silver plated
Some earrings are made out of stainless steel. Stainless steel is a corrosion-resistant alloy of iron, chromium and in some cases other metals. Stainless steel is completely and infinitely recyclable. A silver layer is applied to the stainless steel to give its silver color.

Piercings

Surgical steel
Most piercings are made of surgical steel 316L. Surgical steel is a stainless steel that consists of the materials iron, chromium, nickel and carbon. A big advantage to surgical steel 316L is that it is corrosion resistant and therefore will never rust.

One disadvantage of surgical steel is that it contains nickel and some people are allergic to nickel. When you are allergic to nickel and still come into contact with it, for example, a surgical steel 316L piercing, this reaction usually manifests itself in a form of eczema. Furthermore, it is not recommended to use this material for piercing, because the skin can become irritated. However, if the new piercing is healed and the hole no longer forms a wound, the material will not cause any harm.

Care

All materials used for jewelry can fade in color when worn for a long period of time. How quickly and to what degree this happens depends on how often and for how long the jewelry is worn and how the jewelry is handled. In addition, the acidity of the skin can affect the material, so there is a possibility that the jewelry can discolor. The acidity level differs per person and is influenced by food, medicine and alcohol consumption, among other things.

We recommend removing the jewelry when exercising, swimming, showering, washing hands, cleaning and gardening. By taking the jewelry off during these activities, the jewelry will remain beautiful for a longer period of time.

Avoid the following to keep your jewelry beautiful longer:

  • Perfume
  • Make-up
  • Creams
  • Hairspray
  • Cleaning products

The jewelry can be easily cleaned with the cleaning cloth included in the order. The best place to store the jewelry is in a moisture-free and dark place. We recommend avoiding the bathroom and the sun, and storing the jewelry in the jewelry bag that the jewelry came in.

Guarantee

If the color of your jewelry is significantly affected in a shorter period than normal (less than 10 weeks after receipt), while you have carefully followed the above tips, you can of course make use of the guarantee. In that case please contact us by mail and explain your situation. We will then ask you to return the jewelry to our office, of course this will be at our expense.

When we have received the jewelry, we will investigate the cause of the discoloration. If this investigation shows that the cause of the discoloration is a manufacturing defect and not related to the customer's failure to follow the above tips, the customer will be given a choice. The choice can be made to receive the purchase value of the jewelry back in the form of a gift certificate. The customer can of course also choose to have the same piece of jewelry sent again, or can choose another piece of jewelry of the same value.

If the investigation shows that the cause of the discoloration is related to careless handling of the jewelry, the customer will not be reimbursed and the return costs, both to and from, will still be charged. In addition, the cost of the investigation will also be charged to the customer. The costs for this are €12.50.
